Bonn, August 1 – German logistics group DHL recorded a decline in profit in the second quarter of 2024, as the slowing global economy dampened demand. Financeflashnews reports this based on information from DPA and RTTNews.

DHL’s net profit for the three months ended June 30, 2024, decreased year-on-year by 23.9% to €744 million. Earnings per share reached 63 cents, representing a decrease of 21.3%.

Operating profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) decreased in the second quarter of 2024 to €1.35 billion from €1.7 billion in the same period last year. Revenue, on the other hand, increased by 2.7% to €20.64 billion.

DHL Group confirmed its forecast for the entire year 2024 and expects EBIT in the range of €6 to €6.6 billion. “Thanks to our unique logistics portfolio, we are well-prepared for when global trade regains momentum,” said Melanie Kreis, CFO of DHL Group.
