Stockholm, August 1 (FFN) – Sweden and the United States have signed an agreement to cooperate on the development of nuclear energy. Both countries will exchange experiences in research and innovation, supply chains, financing models, and the development of advanced nuclear fuel, the Swedish government announced on Thursday. Financeflashnews reports based on information from AFP.

Both Sweden and the United States have extensive experience with nuclear energy, and both countries have plans to expand it,” said Swedish Energy Minister Ebba Busch in a statement.

In November 2023, Sweden unveiled a plan to expand its nuclear energy capacity in the coming decades to meet growing electricity demand. In the first phase, Stockholm aims to build reactors with a total capacity of at least 2,500 megawatts by 2035. Sweden currently operates six reactors at three nuclear power plants.
