Berlin, September 2 (FFN) – Consumer sentiment in Germany worsened again in September, signaling a continued decline in consumer confidence. According to the latest survey by the German Retail Association (HDE), the consumer confidence index fell to 96.93 points in September, down from 97.70 points in August. This drop reflects growing pessimism among consumers, who are increasingly concerned about the economic outlook and their personal incomes.

July 2024 | 98.15 points |

The current macroeconomic environment is not conducive to private consumption, and no growth impulses are visible in the retail market. According to the HDE, a decline in economic performance by the end of the year cannot be ruled out.
