Ankara, August 12 (FFN) – Retail sales growth in Turkey accelerated in June 2024 for the first time in four months, according to data released on Monday by the Turkish Statistical Institute. This information is based on a report from RTTNews.
In June 2024, retail sales in Turkey increased by 8.6% year-on-year, up from a 6.2% rise in May, which was the slowest pace in 22 months.
This growth was primarily driven by non-food sales excluding motor fuels, which surged by 11.3% in June following an 8.8% increase in May. However, the growth in sales of food, beverages, and tobacco slightly slowed to 7.7% from 8% in May.
On a month-on-month basis, retail sales in Turkey rose by 1.7% in June after a 0.2% decline in May.
