Düsseldorf, August 23 (FFN)German defense giant Rheinmetall has set an ambitious goal to become one of the world’s largest companies in the industry by the end of this decade. According to a report by DPA, the company aims to reach an annual revenue of 40 billion euros by 2030.

“To achieve this, we need to generate 40 billion euros in annual revenue,” said CEO Armin Papperger in an interview with Handelsblatt. The company plans to exceed 10 billion euros in revenue this year, which would represent a 40% increase. Papperger emphasized that quadrupling the annual revenue to 40 billion euros is not an unrealistic goal, noting that the growth strategy also includes mergers and acquisitions. Rheinmetall recently acquired the U.S. company Loc and the Spanish firm Expal.

Rheinmetall, Germany’s largest defense contractor, increased its revenue by one-third to approximately 3.8 billion euros in the first half of this year. The volume of incoming orders and newly signed framework contracts more than doubled in the same period to 15.4 billion euros. The company produces tanks, artillery systems, air defense systems, military trucks, and ammunition. In addition to supplying and modernizing NATO armies, Rheinmetall is also a significant supplier of military equipment to Ukraine.
